About the Atlanta Ballet Fellowship Division and Ensemble:
The Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education Fellowship Division program was created with a mission to give young dancers the opportunity to develop in a nurturing atmosphere that will groom them to become professional dancers and illustrate what is expected of them in an artistic community. The Fellowship dancers are a select few individuals who have arrived at a defining point in their development. The intense level of training, as well as performing with the Company, helps fulfill the promise that the high expectations demanded of a professional member of Atlanta Ballet is achievable.
As a group, Fellowship dancers rehearse with the Company in repertoire that is presented throughout the season. This includes collaborating with guest choreographers, if selected. In addition to Company productions, the Atlanta Ballet Fellowship Ensemble presents one production a season – a one-hour family ballet at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Since the program began in 1997, many Fellowship members have advanced to Apprentice and Company positions with Atlanta Ballet and to similar roles with other prestigious companies around the world. Those who are not chosen to enter the Atlanta Ballet Company are carefully mentored by Atlanta Ballet's artistic staff in finding possible placement in other companies.
