Together, we reached for the stars in 2023-24!
May 30, 2024
As the 2023-24 school year comes to a close, we look back on an inspirational year of dance and celebrate the students, staff, faculty, parent association and families who make the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education so special.
Charming Moments from La Sylphide
Academy students shared the stage with Atlanta Ballet and Atlanta Ballet 2 dancers in the 2023-24 season opener La Sylphide, choreographed by Johan Kobborg, who also played the role of Madge in the Saturday evening performance!
From Audition to Stage: The Nutcracker Children's Cast
Over 200 student dancers were selected to perform the roles of Chicks, Young Mice, Toy Soldiers and Party Children in The Nutcracker. Gymnasts from local metro Atlanta gymnastics schools also appeared in the production as Star Acrobats.
Atlanta Ballet Boutique at Coco Chanel
The Atlanta Ballet Boutique offered unique Coco Chanel-inspired gifts and souvenirs to sell out crowds at Coco Chanel: The Life of a Fashion Icon. Congratulations to the Boutique team and to all those who purchased a coveted Coco bag! A big thank you also to our wonderful parent volunteers.
The Spring Concert in April was a spectacular celebration of the hard work and achievement demonstrated by our students over the course of the past year. They inspired and captivated audiences with their beautiful performances, professional attitudes and joyful expressions. Bravo!
The Next Generation of Choreographers
The Spring Concert also showcased the next generation of choreographers. Six Atlanta Ballet 2 members - Santiago Bedoya, Claire Buchi, Camille Jackson, Joaquin Ruiz, Paxton Speight and Emanuel Talongo - jumped at the opportunity to choreograph pieces on their fellow dancers.
If you are looking for a program to keep your dancer moving over the summer months, Summer Dance places are available for all ages and experience levels at the Centre for Dance Education's Buckhead and Virginia-Highland studios from June 3 to July 27. No audition required.
Fall enrollment is now open for our Creative Movement and Student Divisions. No audition required. Classes start August 2, 2024.
Spend a fun afternoon with the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education at the annual Open House on Sunday, July 21 from 2pm to 4pm at the Michael C. Carlos Dance Centre in West Midtown. Participate in free dance classes, meet teachers, learn to make the best ballet bun, and shop the Atlanta Ballet Boutique. Children can try ballet and new dance styles, and adults can even join a class too!
