Inside Coppélia: pre-show talk with expert Mara Mandradjieff

Elevate your Coppélia viewing experience by joining us for a pre-show talk with Mara Mandradjieff, PhD for the Saturday Matinee performance March 22, 2025 at 1:00pm. Whether you're a seasoned ballet aficionado or a first-time attendee, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain deeper insights into the history and cultural context of this beloved classic.
Mandradjieff is an award-winning scholar, associate editor for the Dance Chronicle, and professor at Emory University's Dance and Movement Studies Program. Her research on Coppélia, supported by the American Society of Theatre Research grant and published in Dance Research Journal, examines the ballet’s historical and theoretical significance within dance and western society.
This talk is open and complimentary to anyone who has a ticket to the Saturday, March 22 matinee performance. Registration is not required; your Saturday matinee ticket will give you access. Coppélia runs March 21 through 23, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Coppélia is performed in Three Acts with a Running Time of 2 hours 23 minutes and is recommended for ages 5 and up.
